It is always good to draw a diagram of your plan so that you know exactly how many rows of vegetables you will grow. If you decide to plant your vegetable garden on the hill, you should cut your furrows on a contour with the land so that the water does not drain quickly down the hill. You should rotate your vegetable crops in case you are going to use your garden plot for many years. As a result each vegetable will be in a different position during the following season. After a few years give your vegetable garden a well deserved break and spend the time on rebuilding the soil and replacing the nutrients that have been depleted.
