Our ENERGY STAR® compliance is verified by Energy Rated Homes of Iowa; a certified rating provider since 1995. Our homes are built at least 30% more efficient than homes built to code.
The following energy saving features are standard in our homes:
Tight Construction ~ Helps eliminate drafts, moisture, and air from leaving the house; improving indoor air quality, creating a comfortable home, and lowering utility costs.
Sealed Ducts ~ Eliminate drafts and evens the air flow, which increases efficiency and lowers utility costs. By eliminating the back draft of gases back into the home and reducing the risk of pollutants from entering the home, this creates cleaner indoor air.
High Performance Windows ~ Using low-E glass coatings to reduce heat transfer keeps heat out during the summer and heat in during the winter, along with reducing UV rays that could fade carpets, walls, and furniture. Using double pane glass reduces outside noise creating a quieter home.
More Insulation ~ Creates even temperatures throughout the home while using less energy, creating lower utility costs and a comfortable home.
ENERGY STAR® Products ~ Must operate considerably more efficient than similar products, while improving performance, ultimately saving money. They also help protect the environment by using less energy.
High Efficiency Heating and Cooling Equipment ~ Creates even heating and cooling, uses less energy, and is more efficient than typical heating and cooling equipment, which reduces utility bills and provides better comfort throughout the home. Because they are so efficient they run less frequently and operate quietly, making the home quieter. Using a programmable thermostat lets the client program the temperature to turn down when they might not be around, saving money by not having the heating and cooling running so much.
In addition to conventional HVAC systems, we now feature homes with Geothermal HVAC systems that will save our clients utility costs and help provide the most energy efficient home available.
